Invisalign

Get the smile you’re looking for without the metal!

Many of our patients want to change the appearance of their smile, but also don’t want to go through the ordeal of traditional metal braces.

One of the most common things we hear people say is, “I’m too old for braces!”

First of all, this is never true! But second of all, we get it! Even Dr. Locker opted to have Invisalign treatment because she didn’t feel like dealing with sharp wires and metal brackets. And third of all you don’t have to be an adult to get Invisalign – we also offer Invisalign to teens!

If you’re reading this and wondering if Invisalign could be a good solution for you or your child, know that we offer our existing patients free consultations to find out their personalized timeline, treatment, and cost!

Invisalign Treatment for Children and Teens

If you are seeking Invisalign treatment for your child or teenager, the process would begin with a consultation with Dr. Melanie Newman, our pediatric dental specialist. She will evaluate your child’s teeth and facial structure. When doing orthodontic treatment on children, it is important to consider their age and their growth and development. These can all affect the position and movement of their teeth. If she determines that your child would be a good candidate for Invisalign as opposed to traditional braces, she will do a treatment work-up. When you return for a follow-up visit, she will review her recommended treatment and answer any questions. At this point you can decide whether you would like to proceed with Invisalign for your child.

Invisalign Treatment for Adults

Invisalign treatment for adults begins in the same way as above. You will start with a consultation with Dr. Allan Seidman or Dr. Lara Locker. They will evaluate your teeth and confirm that there are no active cavities or other oral pathology. If they determine that you may be a good candidate for Invisalign treatment, they will take photos and a digital camera scan of your teeth. These will be used to determine your personalized treatment plan, including final tooth positions, a treatment timeline, and treatment cost. They will review your treatment plan in detail with you, and at this point you can determine if you would like to move forward with your Invisalign treatment.

It's simple to get started!

How does Invisalign work?

How does Invisalign work

Invisalign uses a custom designed set of aligner trays created just for you. We are able to design the custom fit using our iTero digital 3D scanner. During your consultation visit we can scan your mouth and provide an instant visual high-resolution, interactive 3D simulated timeline of the progress you can expect from your custom aligners. Should you decide to move forward with Invisalign, we will take the 3D scan and create a custom plan and series of aligners that will be worn in a specific order over the course of many weeks.

The aligner trays are made of clear, nearly-invisible plastic that can be worn without anyone noticing. They are made to be worn full time and only taken out to eat and brush. After a period, usually one to two weeks, your teeth will shift to the position intended by the tray and you’ll move to the next tray for the next period of time. There is no metal, no wires, and no adjustments necessary.

We’ll help you to get the smile you deserve without interruptions to your life!

Before and After

How much does Invisalign cost?

Did you know that your insurance may cover your Invisalign treatment? Invisalign is included in “orthodontic treatment” and is typically covered for children, and oftentimes even for adults! Invisalign can also be less expensive compared to conventional braces. After a consultation and the development of your personalized treatment plan, we will be able to give you an accurate quote. We offer a variety of payment options. Some of the payment options include:

  • Monthly payments
  • Using pre-tax funds from an HSA or FSA
  • Cover a percentage using your dental insurance
  • CareCredit ® payment plans

How does Invisalign compare to braces?

Invisalign works similarly to conventional braces but gives you way more freedom. You get the same smile you desire without having to wear the invasive gear. You don’t have to worry about what people think, what you eat, how they look, and best of all they can be taken out at any time. Visits to our office will only be once every 3-4 weeks, so they won’t interfere with your day-to-day routine or schedule.

There are many things you can’t do with braces:
  • You can’t chew gum.
  • You can’t eat hard and sticky foods or other foods that might get stuck in them like popcorn.
  • You can’t easily floss or brush your teeth.
  • You can’t remove them.
There are just a few simple rules to follow with your Invisalign treatment.
  • Take your aligners out to eat and drink, and brush before putting back in.
  • Wear your aligners 22 hours a day for best results.
  • Clean your aligners daily.
  • That’s about it!
